1. How it works

When the stop valve is closed or opened, the stem rises, that is, when the handwheel is turned, the handwheel will rotate and lift with the stem. The gate valve rotates the handwheel to move the stem up and down, and the position of the handwheel remains unchanged. The flow rate is different, requiring the gate valve to be fully open or fully closed, while the stop valve is not required. The globe valve has a specified inlet and outlet direction. Gate valve has no inlet and outlet direction requirements. In addition, the gate valve has only two states: fully open or fully closed, the opening and closing stroke of the gate plate is large, and the opening and closing time is long. The valve plate of the globe valve has a much smaller travel, and the valve plate of the globe valve can be stopped in a certain position for flow regulation during movement. Gate valve can only be used as a stop valve, no other functions.

2. Structurally

When installation space is limited, attention should be paid to selection. According to the medium pressure, the sealing surface can be used to close the gate valve tightly, so as to achieve no leakage effect. When opening and closing, the spool and the sealing surface of the seat always contact and rub against each other, so the sealing surface is easy to wear. When the gate valve is close, the pressure difference between the front and back of the pipeline is large, which makes the sealing surface wear more serious. The structure of the gate valve will be more complex than that of the stop valve. From the appearance, the gate valve is higher than the stop valve, and the stop valve is longer than the gate valve. 3. Performance differences

The stop valve can be used for stop and flow regulation. The fluid resistance of the globe valve is relatively large, and the opening and closing are more laborious, but because the distance between the valve plate and the sealing surface is very short, the opening and closing stroke is very short. Since the gate valve can only be fully opened and fully closed, when it is fully opened, the flow resistance of the medium of the valve body channel is almost zero, so the opening and closing of the gate valve will be very manual saving, but the gate is far from the sealing surface and the opening and closing time is long.

4. Seal on

The sealing surface of the globe valve is the trapezoidal small side of the valve core, and once the valve core falls off, it is equivalent to closing the valve (if the pressure difference is very large, the closure is of course not very tight, but the anti-reaction effect is also good). The gate valve is sealed by the side of the core gate plate, which is not as effective as the stop valve, and when the valve core falls off, the valve core will not close like the stop valve.
